Alberta Held Its Fourth Express Entry Draw And Invites Candidates With CRS Scores Of 300

Alberta, a province in Canada held its fourth draw of this year on February 20, 2020, and ended up inviting candidates with CRS scores of 300 for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

The AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) invited a total of 150 Express Entry candidates with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) scores as low as 300.

Candidates are not required to have job offers in the province to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. But, the immigration candidates were required to have profiles in the federal Express Entry System.

The Express Entry takes charge for 3 of Canada’s main economic class immigration programs, which are:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class

Candidates that are eligible for Express Entry are ranked on human factors, which include experience, work, education, language proficiency, and age.

These human capital factors are evaluated, which allows the government of Canada to give out a CRS score.

The highest-scoring candidates are then selected to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in regular Express Entry draws.

Express Entry candidates that have a provincial nomination from Alberta automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points toward their overall score.

This boost allows them to be selected faster in the poll.

The additional points guarantee that they will receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

If a candidate in the Express Entry pool, who has 300 CRS points, obtains a provincial nomination, their new CRS score will automatically become 900.

A CRS score of 900 is more than enough to qualify for an ITA in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

In order to receive an ITA in the latest federal Express Entry draw, candidates needed a CRS score of 471.
