Good news for international students!
International student graduates will no longer need to
remain in Canada as their PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit) is in process.
As of February 21, 2020, graduates that are eligible to work
full time without a work permit can maintain their ability to work legally in
Canada even if they leave the country and come back afterwards.
But in order to be allowed to work, international students
are asked to apply for their Post-Graduation Work Permit before their study
permit expires.
This simple trick will allow them to work full time.
It can take anywhere from 90 days or more for a PGWP the decision to go through.
In order to work in Canada without a valid work permit,
Post-Graduation Work Permit applicants must have the following requirements:
1.
They had a valid study permit when the applicant
applied for the PGWP
2.
The applicants have completed their study
program and have obtained a degree
3.
The applicants have completed their study
program and have obtained a diploma
4.
The applicants have completed their study program
and have obtained a certificate
5.
The applicants were full-time students
enrolled at a designated learning institution in a post-secondary, vocational,
or professional training program of at least 6 months in duration
6.
The applicants did not work for over 20 hours
per week during their study program
If the government of Canada refuses the applicants applying
for a work permit, the applicant is advised to stop working as soon as he or
she is informed by the Immigration Services Chestermere of the country.
