Internationals Or Canadians Traveling To Canada Amidst Lockdown Are Required To Self-Quarantine For 14 Days

If you are an international traveling to Canada or a citizen of the country that is traveling back from an overseas trip, you will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Canada now has mandatory requirements for travelers that are entering the country amidst the pandemic.

However, these requirements are different on each case.

For travellers that have symptoms of the coronavirus and are planning to come into Canada through an airplane, you will be barred to travel.

If you are planning to cross the border by land and you have symptoms of the virus, you will be allowed to enter the country.

Since the pandemic, the country has restricted traveling into the country for people that are not residents of the country, but, there are some exceptions that are set out by the country.

Citizens, permanent residents, temporary foreign workers, immediate family members, and a number of other individuals are allowed to enter the country.

For international students, you guys are allowed to enter the country if their study permit got approved before March 18, 2020.

It is still possible to leave Canada, but, flights have been restricted and there is a travel health notice to avoid all non-essential travels to all foreign countries.

To the selected people that are allowed to travel into the country, they are required to go straight to their houses or to the place where they will be self-isolating for the next 14 days.

If the selected people stop at the grocery, go to a friend’s house, go to a family member’s house, or go to a place that is not their house, they can face fines or jail time, and even both.

Visitors, work permit holders, and study permit holders are required to go into self-isolation even if they do not show any signs and symptoms of the coronavirus.

Important Note:
If you show any symptoms that are associated with the COVID-19, which is also known as the novel coronavirus, you are required to isolate yourself right away upon entering the country.

If you violate the instructions that are set out by the government of Canada, you will be facing 6 months of jail time, $750,000 in fine, and in worst case scenarios, both.
