The IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has stated that IEC
participants with a job offer can now come to Canada despite the coronavirus
pandemic.
From May 8, 2020, a number of IEC (International Experience Canada) visa
holders are exempted from the travel restrictions of Canada that are in place
because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Only International Experience Canada participants who have a valid job offer
and a port of entry letter of introduction are allowed to come to Canada.
IRCC advises individuals to continue visiting their website for further
updates.
Canada has deemed anyone arriving to the country for work during the
coronavirus pandemic to be an essential traveler.
The participants of the International Experience Canada with a job offer
should take note that they are required to practice self-quarantine for 14 days
once they arrive in Canada.
Not only that, but participants need to provide authorities with a
self-quarantine plan.
As of writing this blog, there are only 4 Canadian airports that are
receiving international flights.
1.
Vancouver (YVR)
2.
Calgary (YYC)
3.
Montreal (YUL)
4.
Toronto (YYZ)
These 4 airports are the only ones that are open right now.
The International Experience Canada enables youth, who are
around 18 years old to 35 years old, to obtain open work permits in Canada for
1 to 2 years.
These youth are citizens of the peer countries of Canada,
which includes:
1. Australia
2. New
Zealand
3. Chile
4. Costa
Rica
5. United
Kingdom
6. Switzerland
7. Hong
Kong
8. Taiwan
9. Japan
10. South
Korea
