Canada-US Border Closure Extended To Keep Canadians Safe

The United States of America and Canada have agreed to extend their borders to each other to keep the residents of both countries safe.

This is the 4th extension since the beginning of the pandemic.

Canada and its southern neighbour will keep their borders close to each other until August 21, 2020.

Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, confirmed the reports on July 16, 2020, to reporters.

The government of Canada is currently committed to keeping Canadians and its residents safe during this coronavirus pandemic.

The United States of America has the most confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world.

However, there are exemptions on this one.

Prime Minister Trudeau said that both countries will allow essential travel despite the ban.

Essential travel includes the following:
1.     Shipments through railways
2.     Shipments through trucks
3.     Essential worker travelling
4.     Temporary foreign worker travelling

Also, the government of Canada said that citizens and permanent residents of the country are allowed to travel through the border.
